The Ergotron tilt mechanism is designed for the G9 in mind, so tilt should actually work without overtly stressing the components.Shipping costs vary based on your location and the items being shipped and in some cases shipping may even be FREE. But the reviews on amazon mentioning the G9 did indicate the the tilt mechanism had to be put to the absolute maximum tightness, which means that it's already going to be under quite a bit of stress. The Vivo does have 2 table clamp points though so that is a good sign actually though. It might 'work', but from a physics standpoint I think you need something that's nearly twice as thick with double the structural stability to support a monitor like this and have it remain stable without excessive strain on the arm to table clamp as well as the VESA mount. I might be wrong but I just don't think that an $80-$100 mount is going to cut it in terms of stability for a monitor this massive with such a weird center of gravity. But this is also a huge monitor, and though the Vivo is probably perfectly fine for a 21:9 or another regular-sized monitor, it wasn't engineered with the G9 in mind from what I can tell. I agree that competition is good, and that the Ergotron is overpriced and should probably cost closer to $200 and not $300. Kind of like how cheaping out on tires on a high performance car is a bad idea. The arm is the only thing keeping your monitor from crashing into your table and breaking. Personally, I wouldn't cheap out on the monitor arm for an expensive high end monitor. Yes it costs 3x as much, but it's sturdy as hell and when you move the monitor it doesn't feel wobbly or like it might tip over from the desk mounting point. Running a monitor arm at or close to it's weight limit is not an experience that inspires confidence. I tried mounting my G9 on a similar monitor mount previously, and although the tilt mechanism didn't work, what scared me was just how overloaded the arm was in terms of weight. even if the G9 actually works on it with the tilt mechanism actually functioning, I'm not sure I would trust a massive $1600 monitor on it.
